With a research background on numerical modelling of unsteady aerodynamics, some technical knowledge of photography, and a big admiration for biological flight, my aim as a BIRD Lab member is to better understand the flow around raptors during complex maneuvers, like perching. For this, we look at variations on the body dynamics and wing morphology using high-speed cameras and motion capture. When not in front of the laptop, behind a lens, or close to these endearing feathered flyers, chances are that you find me exploring the great outdoors or around a beer with friends!
